The $imp$on$

Reuters is reporting that the six main voices from The Simpsons: Dan Castellaneta , Nancy Cartwright , Yeardley Smith , Julie Kavner , Hank Azaria and Harry Shearer, are currently striking for a pay raise. The actors reportedly want to raise their pay from $125,000 an episode to $360,000 per episode! While this doesnt even come close to the $1 million+ per episode pay that Ray Romano or the actors from Friends recieve, each episode only takes about a day of work for these voice actors. Hopefully this will be settled soon.

Meet Freddy. Freddy is a palm powered tattoo machine designed by Austrailian Niki Passath.
The 25 year old says:
“It was a hard job because the only person I could test it on was myself which was painful but a good incentive to get it right as soon as possible.”

Hey Apple Steal This

According to Gizmodo Samsung has released it’s Napster 2.0 20gb portable MP3 player, the YP-910GS (talk about creative!).
At first I thought Who cares? It’s tied to Napster 2 and it’s wonderful Windows only DRM. It’s not firewire. blah blah blah… and then I saw 2 features that are must haves for the iPod: Built in FM transmitter and it can record radio straight to MP3! That’s fuckin dope.

GameBoy Advance Wireless Adapter

Motorola has announced this nifty short range wireless adapter for Gameboy Advanced and SP. Up to five players at a time but only for use with people close by. The odd thing is while it uses the 2.4ghz band (bluetooth, wifi, ect) it actually uses the old TDMA cell phone standard. I guess motorola had a lot of old phones left over. The article says it will be available in Japan in early 2004.

R.I.P. Mr Ritter

John Ritter passed away last night from a heart defect. I was good friends with his son Jason and daughter Carly when I was in junior high school and in spending lots of time at their house in Brentwood I got to know John pretty well. I can honestly say he was one of the nicest and most genuine people I have ever met, and not just for a celebrity, a truly good human being. He will be missed and our condolences go out to his entire family.
