Shopping Cart Madness

shoppingcart.jpg

The guys from CKY are chumps.
Andy Tyler strapped a JET ENGINE to his shopping cart. The homebuilt gas and liquid fuel pulse jet gets about 1112° F, so I guess the 35 year old has no plans to see 36.

Delicious Library 3

overview2.jpg

Think Secret has a sneak preview of Delicious Library 3. There are thousands of DVD/Book/CD catalogers for Mac OS X, and even a few that can look up the titles and pictures via the ISBN number. But how many can scan the ISBN through an iSight video camera? The interface looks sweet as well.

Never Leaving Las Vegas

hooters.gif
Hooters and the San Remo Hotel have partnered to create The Hooters Hotel and Casino. Can someone please build a Mag-Lev train from LA to Vegas so I can just start sleeping there? The hotel and casino will stay open during the conversion.

Keg Wrap

2 frat brothers from Cleveland are saving the world….from warm beer! They have invented an electric blanket that wraps around a keg of beer and chills it anywhere you can plug it in. As soon as these hit the market I’m picking one up, the keg under my bed keeps getting warm by 10am.

Apple Cracks FairPlay For You

The german news site MacNews.de is reporting a way to use iMovie to strip the FairPlay DRM from protected iTunes Music Store songs. Since I dont read german, and am too lazy for Babelfish, here’s a quote from MacNN:

“Apple’s iMovie can be used to strip the FairPlay digital rights management protection (DRM) on iTunes songs, according to a report by German news site Macnews.de. The site reports that Apple’s own video tool can be used to create unprotected song files that be played on any computer without recompression, circumventing iTunes’ DRM protection. iMovie users can use the “Share” feature of iMovie to export any imported (protected) song from the iTunes Music Store. The exported songs can either be stored in the un-protected AAC file format (used by Apple at the iTMS) or in the raw WAV file format; both of these formats are supported by iTunes.”

Will Apple sue themselves for DMCA violations??

Winnebago Man

winman.jpg

Ever wondered what the out-takes of a Winnebago commercial would be like if the host was having a mental breakdown and swearing more in 2 minutes than the entire movie Pulp Fiction? Well here is a video of that exact situation.

Big trucks really aren’t an extension of your penis!

Thanks to this nameless gentleman and his numerous years of schooling in the renowned Cohasset Elementary / Middle / High School System…

We now have proof that if you drive a HUGE gas guzzling truck that can tow 6 boats, and airplane and has “GOT A HEMI!”…

… then you are a big, huge, hairy, PUSSY!!

peep the proof:

in other news, if you drive a smallish box shaped car…like a Scion xB – then you have a HUGE penis, and all the ladies love you proper – suckah!

Why Innovate When You Can Steal?

Apple’s WorldWide Developer Conference 2004 kicked off today with a keynote from Steve that previewed many of the new features of Mac OS 10.4 a.k.a. Tiger.

Apple has covered WWDC in giant posters that talk smack about Microsoft stealing OS ideas from Apple including “Redmond, Start your photocopiers”. Normally, I am all for this sort of jab, except when at the same event you also tout two huge new Tiger features that were flat out stolen from shareware developers!!

Spotlight -”Find anything, anywhere on your computer in no time flat”. Gee that sounds and act’s exactly like BlackTree’s Quicksilver.

Dashboard -”Open fast access JavaScript widgets with a press of a button”. Hrmmm that’s exactly how I would describe Konfabulator.

Then there’s Automator which is pretty similar to QuicKeys and 100 other scripting suites.
And don’t forget that Safari now does RSS feeds, a la NetNewsWire.

Did apple forget the whole Sherlock/Watson scandal????? Apple stole all the ideas behind Watson to make Sherlock 3, and it sucked. It still sucks, but Watson suffered for a while and now after a year of no updates, Karelia is selling it off.

Is Steve sitting in his door and windowless house planning the death for every loved Mac shareware application?
