Griffin Tech iFill

ifillscreenshot.jpg
It’s not on their homepage yet, but Griffin Technologies new iFill is my new favorite Mac OS X application. Want lots of new music on your iPod, that gets refreshed every day? Looking for an easy way to fill that extra gig or two on your iPod? Then give iFill a try.

“iFill streams mp3 files from thousands of free radio stations directly to your iPod. You can choose several stations at once and select from many different genres. And since iFill goes directly to your iPod, it won’t clutter up your hard drive with extra files.”

Pick your favorite streaming radio stations, plug in your iPod and go to sleep, when you awake you’ve got loads of new entertainment. They’ve got my $20.

All thieves should die soon after watching their mothers get gang-raped!

Well, Besk one’s house got robbed last week, fucking bastards cleaned up and got away with the following booty:

• Brand NEW PowerMac G5 Dual 2.0Ghz, 1.5GB Ram, 2x 250GB Hard Drives SN# YM4384H1QPM
• Apple 20′ Cinema Display (ADC) SN# YM4384H1QPM
• Canon Digital Elph S230 SN# 8185A001 [AA]
• Philips Pronto Pro TSU 7000 SN# PL1A0428006201
• Apple iBook G3 500Mhz, 512MB Ram, 10GB Hard Drive (bought used, no SN handy)
• Apple iBook G3 600Mhz 256MB Ram, 20GB Hard Drive (with broken screen hinges)
• Evolution MK-426 MIDI Controller
• Lilliput 7″ Touchscreen (see car-puter thread)
• 250GB Firewire Drive (my backup HD)
• 200GB Western Digital ATA Hard Drive
• My Friends Sony Camcorder

so Help a fellow cap peeling brother out, and be on the lookout some sucker ass punk selling said items cheap on e-bay or craigslist - If I ever find out who did this, I’ll probably be in jail for splattering their insides all over the place I find them, but hopefully the cops find them first.

And a note to everyone - GET RENTERS INSURANCE! it’s cheap and will save your ass - as I’m finding out, not having it really sucks sweaty monkey balls…

The worst part about the whole deal is the 6 years of data that’s now gone :(
And it’s not like I didn’t have a backup in case my internal drives died - the bastards stole my BACKUP DRIVES TOO! - a good case for always having an off-site backup of your important data!

3.5″ Drive connected to an iPod

booted.jpg

What do you when your iPod hard drive takes a dump??? If your anything like this guy, then you hand build an ATA cable to connect a 3.5″ hard drive to your iPod. Definitely not for the solder-unfriendly, but having a 250gb iPod on my desk would be damn cool.

This swedish guy found a use for the cheese-grater front of the G5 tower. His site is in swedish, but here’s a translation.

Hunter S. Thompson Commits Suicide

pounhunter.jpg

The pioneer of “Gonzo Journalism” Hunter S. Thompson killed himself yesterday

“Thompson was found dead Sunday in his Aspen-area home of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, sheriff’s officials said. He was 67. Thompson’s wife, Anita, had gone out before the shooting and was not home at the time. His son, Juan, found the body.
Thompson “took his life with a gunshot to the head,” the wife and son said in a statement released to the Aspen Daily News. The statement asked for privacy for Thompson’s family and, using the Latin term for Earth, added, “He stomped terra.”"

A twisted brilliant mind has been lost.

“Hey look over there, there’s two women fucking a polar bear”

JewelCase

jewelcase.jpg

I have always been disappointed with the lack of good visual plug-in’s for iTunes. Sure there’s G-Force, but compared to WinAmp and some of the other Windows MP3 players we don’t have squat. That’s why I was ecstatic to find JewelCase. JewelCase renders a spinning 3D CD jewelcase of whatever your listening to. If the song has album art, it is used as the cover and altered for the back cover.
And JewelCase renders a track listing of all the other songs on the album (that you have, and have properly tagged) on the back.

“JewelCase is a plug-in that turns iTunes into a visual jukebox, displaying each song in a virtual CD jewel case, complete with album cover art, artist and album information… It’s just like viewing real CDs in your collection!”

Simple, elegant, and free. Just like your mom.

Happy Holidays!

image007.jpg

Happy Holidays from everyone here at CapsGetPeeled. We’re off to a small tropical country where hookers are legal and the liquor flows freely. You know, a traditional christmas.
