Amen Brother
Most people have no idea that 6 seconds of drumming from a 1969 B-side is the foundation for almost all modern Jungle and Drum & Bass music. Used in literally thousands of songs, from hip hop to electronica, and even in commercials, the drum break from The Winston’s Amen Brother is the single most used sample of all time.
Sure the video is kind of long (at 18+ minutes) and all you ever see is a turntable, but it’s quite informative for those who dont know the story. Once it’s been pointed out, you will hear sample’s of this song everywhere.
